This Cookbook was published in about 1828. My copy, a modern reprint, is a combination of two Cookbooks and purports to be the first "American" cookbooks.

Seriously, Great Great Grandma had it pretty rough compared to you and I!

Oh my gosh, my mom makes something like this except with ham and sliced potatoes in a casserole dish and we call it...SCALLOPED POTATOES! I always wondered why "scalloped", I can't wait to tell her, thank you!

Ah! The mind of the young!

I didn't even begin to relate the two "Scallop" and "Scalloped" together. It would be interesting to dig further. :o)

Here I was thinking that was a really tasty way to fill pasta shells...*L* You know, like another thing with stuffed shells? What do I know? :)
