20s Photoshoot

Hi again! I know, I know. Two posts in less than a week. This isn't much different from the style I'd posted previously, but my husband and I finally used an hour photoshoot package from one of those group deal sites last night, so I thought I'd share what it looks like with proper makeup, hair, composition and lighting. Seconding the recommendation to look at pics of Anna Mae Wong's makeup, she had a gorgeous look that will probably work well for you.

I guess I should clarify: I like my makeup now. I was just pointing out that vintage makeup has to be done differently on Asian eyes, and especially the 20s makeup, which goes against everything we're told to do by shading the inside, rather than the outsides.

I guess my main point is for any Asians doing vintage styles not to OVER emphasise. Like Anna May Wong (and, yes, I love her!) went for simple but dramatic with light shading and liner, with Asian eyes, less is more. I see a lot of Asian girls try to go for the Adriana Lima smoky eye look but come out looking like raccoons instead because too much dark outlining/smudging instead shadowed their eyes!
