She has always been into beauty and looking good. She must have spent hours on that hair. Even now, in the dementia home at 88 years old, she always dresses nice, puts on makeup, and wears her pearls.
When I last visited her in the dementia home, we went through these old photos of her and it made her really happy. She was always really into looks (her own and everyone else's) and seeing how good she used to look made her very content.
Aw, I want to hug her! I read you said she's in a home for people with dementia. Cherish the time you have with her. It's such a gift! I have some photos of my grandmother with 30's hair somewhere. I should try to find them and post!
You should post them! My family (both sides) has thousands of photographs that are now all at our house (as people died or in Grandma's case, went into the home, we inherited the pictures) going all the way back to 1846, and so far I have scanned, cropped, labeled, organized, filed and uploaded 2,944 photos so far. I've been doing it since August. I still have about 1000 photos left (there are 18 albums and two boxes of loose photos left) to do, so hopefully I'll finish by February. I made a small filing cabinet and right now the photos are organized by name, and eventually I want to organize them all by decade within that person's name. And then I'm going to do the genealogy.
