*snicker* Kind of a weird book choice to take as the start of book reviews. I'd automatically take one I rate 9 or 10, but that's just me ;) The book sounds rather annoying to me, so I doubt I'll read it. I think I'd rather pick up a translated copy of the Aeneid by Virgil (or Vergilius, as we know him), or even the Iliad by Homer(os/us), than read that fantasy stuff up there ^ *points at your review* Sorry, but what is "refreshing" for one person, is "blatant historical abuse" to others ... like me :P

The Xandros character sounds interesting though. I guess he was the main reason you didn't just throw the book aside?

And are these book reviews going to become a frequent thing now? :D

Heh. Well, I wanted to review the latest book I read, which was this gorgeous little gem. ;-) The next one, however, will be a lot more positive! And yes, book reviews are supposed to become a frequent thing. I'll try to whip up another one when I have some time off work, possibly of the book I'm currently reading.

Xandros was indeed the reason why I continued to read it. If it wasn't for him I would have given up on the story altogether. And I do hear you on the historical abuse. I didn't really mind it in this case as it's labelled as fantasy, but I have read so-called "historical fiction" which was totally not accurate at all. And yes, that pissed me off.
