I will repost what I replied to her LJ, because I dunno how many people read yours and not hers anymore.

I told one of you, I think it was Cajun not to go down there. That part
of town is getting worse and worse at night. And with something llike
pride weekend, the punks step up their shit. When I worked downtown, I
would occasionally walk up to the mini market just down 3nf from the
Noc-noc, and a couple jerk offs had the gaul to try and start up with me.
You know it's a shitty crack head neighborhood when they'll start up with
anyone. Like I said, that's a shitty part of town, getting worse, and the
cops/city don't give a damn.

Not sure if there is some sorta crack dealer turf war going on that is getting Noc patrons in the crossfire, or crack heads gettign cut off from their normal dealers going whacko, but the area around there is going to hell on a runaway train.

It's always been a lil sketchy....but this has gotten out of control. Another ex of mine was getting fucked with at Joes about a month ago as well.

It's time for people to stop feeling "relaxed" down there and keep their gaurd up.

Good to hear from ya.

Yeah, that is pretty scary. I have to say, when my hubby and I lived downtown and would walk to and from the clubs, there were often times when I was a bit scared walking around while all dressed up. More scary walking home, when it's late, we're drunk, and all the wrong people are still on the street. It was still kinda scary even when I wasn't dressed up, but people seem to think it's ok to call out names and be assholes when you look different than them. One time I was down in Pioneer Square for something and Erik left early. Walking home that night (or morning, as it was), I decided never again would I stay behind and leave myself in a position where I had to get myself home, by myself. It was the worst and scariest walk I've ever been on.
I'm real sorry about what happened to your ex and her boyfriend. Hopefully in the future we'll all use the buddy system when we go to the Noc. And by the buddy system, I mean like more than 5.

I was just thinking about going as group to the parking lots from now on right before you commented.

I do so wish I would have been there, or just waited at my car for another couple of minutes. Even though our breakup was harsh....I wish no harm to come to either of them.

Upstanding thing of you to say/do Matty Bear. *hugs you*

I agree. Even though I've been here only 7 months, I've noticed the rise in that sort of "element" just since I've been here and patronizing the Noc with you all. Scary shit man. What the hell is going on? I think that this Joes mart needs to get a handle on shit too and start having these people that are soliciting/loitering in the area ticketed or asked to leave. I understand that many of them are possible patrons and it probably won't happen--but since this is becoming so damn often--i think they need to start looking at options on cutting down the crime in that area.

I know that Karl & I are often careful to just get in a cab afterwards because of the nazi skinhead fucks that lurk in the back. Although Seattle is very diverse and really liberal, it doesn't mean that hate doesn't exist and being an interracial couple could have consequences like that as well.

The element down there is getting very disturbing to say the least.

People just need to be warned so they can watch their asses.

Leave it to retards to ruin a decent night out.

I get into about one scuffle per year down outside the Noc. But it's always me stepping in or protecting a drunk friend ;) People just never seem to start shit with me....and I'm thankful.

Well...I have very lil contact with her right now and I found this out through a mutual friend. I guess they got roughed up pretty good, but no broken bones. I hear they will be fine.

Just warn people to be careful down there.

Thanks for the comment :)
