Rumor has it, that it's a combination of the people who own the condos above complaining about the noise and the new city nightlife ordinance being enforced.
hmm, instead of trying to ruin the fun of responsible people...
how about...get rid of the 'tards with the stupid ass thump thump cars. Those are more annoying than any club could ever be. If you don't like club noise...move the fuck away from that area for chrissakes.
I hate people more and more every day...think it's time to shack up with Grizzley Adams, erm, but with satellite internet and such of course...
I was just thinking...at least before there was a place for us all to go....I guess now we will just have to wander around in their front yards, HAHA! Just because you took away a watering hole...doesn't not mean we are going away ;)
I've been thinking more and more about just buying a shit-ton of land like in BFE Wyoming or perhaps a small island and just declare myself King of Phreekland. Anybody wanna come with?
yay!! I'll move to Phreekland. Not Wyoming though, please pick somewhere with TREES!!!!! Yes, I like the Lorax, speak to the trees (sometimes, just sometimes, they almost talk back) :P
But I still bet the CHAC was there first. And they have had many other loud shows there in the past, suspension events, raves, concerts...etc. It just seems a bit selective to me, after all they were only open 3 days a week and for about 4 hours ea. night = 12 hours per week.
I wonder if shutting down the Blacklight will also effect future shows at the CHAC.

CLUB BLACKLIGHT Hi Everyone - This Friday and Saturday nights will be our final nights at CHAC. Monny & I have decided that we just can't buck City Hall (we have been getting noise/nuisance complaints since the day we opened the door), and neither CHAC nor Blacklight can afford to pay the exorbitant fines the City Council is contemplating for any infractions by the nightlife in this town. Our contract is up, so we are going out with a bang - June 29th is FabulousFetish Friday hosted by General Bek and DJ Paul Aleinikoff, and of course June 30th is our New Wave Dance Party with DJ Evan Blackstone. Friday we will be upstairs in the showroom, Saturday we will be downstairs in the lower level/lounge. Come on out and dance!

Just like you cannot smoke ANYWHERE here in Tucson. No strip clubs, no bars, NOTHING. (Not like I can smoke, but that is just a wee bit odd.)

They are taking our liberties....one at a time.

And yes...Wyoming may not be the best idea....I'm not really that comfortable with raping sheep ;)
The island will have tress though...plus it'll make it harder for "them" to get to us, heh.
