my words keep coming back to me, in shades of mediocrity

My back is kinda killing me today, so I'm making the decision not to clean Mike's office. I would, except that I have to work for almost 10 hours tonight. Hopefully, Bob will be nice enough to give me a break... he kinda has to by law. At least it's not a weekend, so we close at 10. Oh, and I have to get up and open tomorrow morning. Alright, I ( Read more... )

Okay, I totally agree - it has been entirely too long! In the span of a week since we last saw each other/talked, I got a laptop! Yes, between the savings my mom has been keeping all year and the money I got from my graduation party, I had enough money to buy a brand spankin' new MACBOOK PRO!!!! Aka, the most fantabulous computer in the history of time! It came yesterday (a mere 24 hours after it was shipped - from Shanghai China, believe it or not), and so of course I have been generally spazzing out. I am so deeply in love with and indebted to Apple/Steve Jobs right now. Isn't Starbucks a wireless hotspot? And they're literally right next door to you... hmm, sometime very soon I will have to come visit you, brandishing my new baby ( ... )

business first... I've seen people go both ways with the theater, hell I've seen guys at BROADWAY shows at night in jeans. Then again, there's always those chicks who are ridiculously dressed in like homecoming dresses. So, as a rule of thumb I've usually gone more casual for matinees... but if the dress is more like a cocktail dress, you could also pull it off ( ... )

Okay, also. I'm taking a poll. When you think of a jean skirt, what is the connotation? Here, let me bias you - we're not talking skanky "I can see your underwear and you aren't even sitting or bending over" type jean skirt, nor the ankle-length peasantesque jean skirt. Just the knee length kind.

Because I'm outfit arranging for Sunday, and I'm having a crisis; the skirt as a clothing item is inherently dressy, but denim as a fabric is inherently casual... it's an oxymoron of clothes, really. So does that mean it's neutral? If I wear it with this silky camisole and a sparkly silver necklace and fancy hair and sandals (actual sandals, not flip flops), will it be appropriate for the theatre? Because I also have this awesome black-white print silk dress I've been dying to wear, but it's a tad much for the afternoon...

I'm definitely overthinking this. Please put me out of my misery whenever you get a moment.
