The Gaiman quote is taken from The Sandman Vol. 9: The Kindly Ones; it is spoken by a character and does not necessarily represent Neil's personal views.

Also, I don't know what Neil having Jewish ancestry has to do with anything.

It may seem I did, but I didn't assert that it represents Gaiman's personal views. I'm only accrediting it to Neil.
