Character

Name: Soubi Agatsuma
Fandom: Loveless
Gender: Male
Age: 20
Time Period: Before they go to Gora.
Wing Color: Dark purple.
History: Soubi’s parents were both killed in an accident when he was six. Ritsu Minami, who appeared to have a sort of relationship with his mother, was the one who claimed custody for him at the hospital. Both of their first impressions of each other were horrible-Soubi was just scared and confused, wondering why his parents wouldn’t wake up. Ritsu was irked by the wailing young boy. But they were stuck with each other.
Ritsu was the principal of a school for Fighter Units & Sacrifices, known as Septimal Moon. It was only natural then, that he took Soubi with him there-to teach him how to become the perfect fighter unit. From early on, Ritsu favored Soubi; whether it was for his strong innate ability as a fighter unit, or for more ulterior motives (his relationship with Soubi’s mother). Although all the students within Septimal Moon were taught the same thing, Soubi often had private meetings with Ritsu, in which he was instructed further. Thus their relationship grew-he was not only a father figure, but a lover of sorts. The perfect fighter unit to Ritsu was powerful, but lacked a will of his own. Ritsu saw the potential in Soubi and strove to create that. But the training was to put it simply, difficult and abusive. Soubi grew up listening to phrases such as “Soubi-kun. Pain triggers fear. But you must not fear pain. You must feel it. - One who knows pain Soubi-kun…knows strength.“ Never raise your voice. Grit your teeth. Soubi-kun…you will be able to withstand.” ”Submit. Hands on the wall. Be dominated. That is your fate. Protect your sacrifice and fight.”
That was until Soubi’s training was complete, and his sacrifice came along. One, Seimei Aoyagi, age 14. Soubi was a blank fighter unit, and as such had no specific partner like all the other fighters had. But Seimei had chosen Soubi, and thus he became Beloved. His second relationship didn’t fare much better than his first. Seimei both mentally and physically abused him, and most importantly to Soubi-completely dominated him. He even carved a collar onto his throat with a knife. What happened beyond the abuse and their basic relationship isn’t clear, besides the fact that they were widely regarded as the most renowned battle pair. It was said that they never lost a single battle. Along the way Soubi began to attend university and made his first, and only friend, Kio Kaidou. Although the relationship got off to a rocky start, it would be one Soubi eventually grew to cherish, in a small way.
But like all things in Soubi’s life, it was only something temporary. Three years later, Seimei died. The mental blow to Soubi of having no one to control him (he could have went back to Ritsu, but wouldn’t as Ritsu gave him away in the first place) utterly killed his spirit. He became very zombie like, and only did the bare minimum things to survive. There was hope, however. Seimei had left him instruction that when he was to die, he would Ritsuka’s fighter, his young brother’s fighter.
Time passed, and eventually Soubi could wait no longer for Ritsuka to come and claim him on his own. So Soubi went to him. The situation was precarious at best. Here was a 20 year old, going to pick him a 12 year old at school he had never met before. Soubi didn’t look suspicious, not at all (yeah right). Ritsuka apparently felt the same way, as he immediately told Soubi to leave him alone, screamed at him, and so on. It wasn’t until Soubi mentioned that he knew Ritsuka’s brother, Seimei, that Ritsuka calmed. It was like a lightbulb had gone on in Ritsuka’s head-anyone that was friends with his older brother was a good person to him. Thus they went to the park to make memories, taking pictures of themselves together, amongst the flowers…but these weren’t the type of memories Soubi had in mind. Consequently right after Ritsuka had inquired about Soubi’s ears (his lack of virginity), and Soubi’s insistence that he wouldn’t do anything wrong, Soubi kissed him on the lips. It was to create their bond as a fighter and sacrifice. Or that’s what Soubi told Ritsuka as he flailed around angrily afterwards. They didn’t have much time to discuss though, as they were subsequently met by Breathless, and engaged in a battle. Soubi defeated them easily, and Ritsuka was left with more questions then answers: why did they want to take him to septimal moon? Who was Soubi? What was Septimal Moon?
None of that mattered to Soubi though, he had a sacrifice again, and thus he could live again. He listened to Ritsuka’s orders obediently (or not many times), and vowed to help Ritsuka discover the hidden truth behind Seimei’s death, and Septimal Moon. His past would come back to haunt him in many ways, battle units coming to lynch him, and the most horrible of all, finding out (or merely reaffirming since it’s not clear whether he knew or not) that Seimei was alive after all. After a run-in with Nisei, Beloved’s true fighter unit, he received a call from Ritsuka: they would be going to Gora. The base of Septimal Moon, and where everything had started.

If you need me to fill out any more of the history, I’d be more than happy to. I focused on the Pre-Ritsuka History though, as that’s the harder to garnish without the wiki.
Personality: First impressions of Soubi are often inaccurate, yet surprisingly accurate at the same. The boy makes little sense. To those he has nothing to do with, Soubi can often come off as cold, uncaring, and apathetic. He has no business for making friends, and his attitude reflects as such. But, that isn’t how he really is, at all. If you manage to get beyond his anti-social exterior (whether by you spark his interest, or you become someone who has something to do with Ritsuka), you’ll begin to see what Soubi is really like. Incredibly snarky, playful, teasing, easy-going, caring (good luck in seeing this under the other many layers), serious at times, blunt, a person of little shame. On the other hand, he can be downright cruel at times, and many comments of “jerk!” have been thrown his way. In this same notion he can be rather condescending-whether it’s in regard to wordspell, or life in general.
At his core, Soubi is extremely loyal, extremely devoted, a masochist, and to a point simple as his desires can be easily listed. To be used, to be wanted, to be dominated, to be a weapon, to be a fighter. Having been raised since age six by Ritsu Minami, it’s what he yearns for, what he craves. Soubi is lost without someone to control him. In short, Soubi is very needy. He also will push-push to be closer to his sacrifice if allowed. He doesn’t hesitate in pinning Ritsuka for a kiss, in holding him, caressing him. It’s highly unlikely Seimei allowed such behavior, and in the past he was most likely completely dominated to the point where he had either had no reason to push, or was simply afraid to. For someone who’s so submissive , Soubi also has a certain air of dominance as well. He will tell others what to do, will get in their business if he sees fit, will gladly (as aforementioned) pin Ritsuka against the wall and kiss him. Also make no mistake, he’s only submissive to his sacrifice, and no one else.
It’s been said that Soubi cannot fake a smile, and he has many. On the other hand, he’s not the type of person to go around touting his emotions to other people. He would much rather lie, evade (or sulk in some cases), than share how he’s feeling. And when I say lie? The boy lies constantly. It’s hard to tell whether anything out of Soubi’s mouth is truth. But when it is true, it’s usually brutally honest.

Strengths: Physical: He’s quite in shape, and he can both take a hit, and give one. His tolerance for pain is also insane. And as a fighter unit? He’s quite possibly the best there is. Even with his power halved, he’s insanely powerful. He’s rather good looking, as well.
Mental: If we’re counting left/right brained-ness, he’s artistic. Also, a lot of his training was mental in nature: to fight despite the pain, to ignore it, to forget about his own and grit and bear it. Mind over matter.
Emotional:: He can smile in a lot of situations. Whether this is a good or bad thing, is up to your discretion. At times, he can actually be a big brother figure to Ritsuka’s friends. Not that he’s a good role model in the slightest, but he does take care of them and feed them.
Weaknesses: Physical: He smokes. A lot.
mental:: He’s rather childish at times. And, sometimes he wants to solve things simply, without much thought put into the after.
emotional: Put simply, Soubi is a broken person-but it’s no surprise considering the past two important relationships in his life. He’s incredibly needy, and can’t function without his sacrifice. He doesn’t get along well with girls (for too long), nor does he ever seem to be able to have a normal relationship with most people.

First Person: --

Third Person: The sun was really bright this morning. That was his first thought, as he the sunlight invaded his sleep, forcing him to stir and his eyes to open. Soubi sat up and reached over for his mobile on the ledge of his window…and found nothing. No mobile, no sign of the window either. Instantly he sat up, alert. A forest. Although quite beautiful (he would have enjoyed to paint such a scene on another day), it was clear this was far from his apartment. Which meant only one thing: he was possibly very far from Ritsuka. That wouldn’t do, at all.
As Soubi got up to begin his search his eyes happened to glance down at his own body. White cotton pants? First a strange forest, and now he found himself not even dressed in his own clothes (not that he normally slept with much on, which was his first clue.) No, he was dressed in some strange white clothes, which were quite ugly, at that. He sighed. Nothing made sense right now, especially with what he had learned, what he had heard, yesterday. Thinking of his voice again made him grimace, and the feeling in the bottom of his stomach only intensified. Those two brats had left yesterday, too. But no, the only thing he had to worry about right now is Ritsuka. He could think about the rest of it…some other time.
Something else was off too, as he felt a slight twinge of pain by his shoulder blades. Odd, as he couldn’t recall being injured there. Glancing behind him, he saw what were unmistakably purple wings. Wings. He had lost his other appendages at a young age. Why would he suddenly have wings now? People didn’t grow wings, anymore than a person could take back the past. This had to be a dream, then.
…still, he had to find Ritsuka.
