Dual post because I don't feel like spamming people with two posts from me. xD Oh yeah, and my icon is relevant for UBCon.
UBCon...for my first one, I can probably say that it was fun and tiring. I "arrived" at seven-ish to get my badge from prereg, and then went back to the dorm since there was nothing else to do for a while. I went back around midnight for the J-Rave. It was actually a lot of fun! When something interesting happened, everyone would stop. The first time was when those glowstick twirlers were showing off. And then everyone eventually got into that circle and various people would go in and free style. I went in with a group of two others during "What is Love", and we bobbed our heads, of course. xD Of course, "Caramelldansen" played, and then I joined in a group of about five for "Motteke! Sailor Fuku". (Also, "Believe" by Erasure? Remixed?! HELLZ TO TEH YEAH.)
I left around two to head up for a video room shift. It was...the yaoi room. I was generally cool with anything (in fact, I didn't care so much that I let them choose what they wanted to watch.) First was ten minutes of the Korean live action drama "Boy Meets Boy". It only lasted ten minutes because we seriously thought that the writers were too high on...something with the random cupid showing up and breaking into song. And then the little animation during the song? WTF!! Then we watched "Sensitive Pornograph", "No Money", and then "Kirepapa". Just before four, I put something else on with the comment that I was going to take a nap, which seemed like a good idea to everyone. I woke up just after five, the show was over, so all I had to do was wait for the next person to come and take their shift. I got back to my dorm around six. I fixed up my pink wig a little, and then took another nap.
I woke up with exactly two minutes before my first maid cafe shift started. I ran out the door with my stuff in hand and arrived a quarter-past. Fortunately, there wasn't a huge rush of people yet. I had to stay around until four o'clock. In that time, I became the runner to the vendors and one to Baldy. And, just when my shift ended, I was told I couldn't leave by two other staffers (although not club officers). :c I stayed for five minutes before telling an officer that my shift was done and left. I went back to my dorm, changed into my Enbizaka!Luka cosplay, and met up with Mom, Kevin, and Zoe (in her Hinamori Amu cosplay) for dinner. Then we went over to Baldy for Name That Tune set-up and playing. For the first time doing it, 'twas fun. It could have gone better, but that's what happens when things beyond your control occur and your tech crew can't make it at the scheduled time. I headed back to my dorm again, and then returned just before midnight for my last shift.
I tried to stay awake for as long as I could. However, I began to crash around four, apologized profusely to everyone, and then passed out on a couch for an hour. I woke up again for another video room, fell asleep for two episodes, stayed up for one, and then slept again. It was over before the next person came in. I dragged myself back to the dorms, and, by eight-thirty, I was out.
I woke up just before five-thirty this afternoon, had dinner, and then proceeded to get on my computer. I'm probably going to go back to bed in about thirty minutes.
I only bought a few things this weekend: two vanilla lattes from Starbucks (a venti on Friday and a grande on Saturday) and breakfast Saturday morning. Mom bought me the last Vocaloid Nenderoid figure being sold. I was worried at first because you don't know who you get until you open the box, but I lucked out and got Kaito! He's so cute~ <3
So, now onto non-UBCon things
There are only fifteen days left in the semester! I'm so excited, but not for the finals part. It bothers me somewhat that I don't have any idea when my finals are. O_o
My schedule for next year...
- Monday, Wednesday, Friday: Chemistry, 9:00-10:00; French, 1:00-2:00
- Everyday: 1st year-1st semester Japanese, 12:00-1:00
- Tuesday, Thursday: Introduction to Swimming, 10:00-10:50
- Wednesday: Visual Theory, Aesthetics, and Criticism (art course, mandatory for art minor), 4:00-6:40
- Thursday: Chemistry recitation (1:00-2:50) and lab (3:00-4:50)
Only two classes on Tuesday. I think I know what my laundry day will be for next semester.
My roommate...I think she's Korean (her last name is "Park", so that makes me pretty certain), but she graduated high school in Ho Chi Minh. I don't know, man...
Supposedly, SLAM is on for the summer. What we're doing, I don't know. J-no was supposedly really burning out during the high school production of WSS, so there were rumors that it wasn't going to happen.
Anime North. More on that later~
For the first time in a long while, my household is going on a vacation! We're heading out to Las Vegas (I haven't been there since second grade) in June for, mainly, the "Tour de Cirque". We're going to see four different Cirque du Soleil shows (Mystère, O, KÀ, and Love) each night during our short time there. And before anyone asks: No, I can't gamble in Nevada. It's twenty-one.
And now, one episode of anime, and then sleep.
ETA: Wrote the wrong French time; dropped linguistics to take Japanese.
ETA2: Added an athletic course.
