just found out that my freshman year next door neighbor (and my pal during college) was killed a few days ago. he was struck by a car down on the LES and died at the scene. it's so so sad. he was such a nice, totally goofy person. he made me laugh somehow every time i saw him

i love you. i lost touch with my college friends too, hell with my high school friends and most of them are married and having babies now too. ack. i am old. :(

Sorry for your loss but that is the price of getting older you lose touch with the ones that you care(d) about and then before you know it, it is too late and they are gone.

I'm sorry; I didn't know that you knew him well. We are aging, and it's... strange. Keeping in touch is... not easy, and this is, I guess, how things... go, in life. And it's impossible to articulate.

i am sorry about your friend. death is something that haunts me and something that i have actually encountered a few times myself already. *true* i turn 40 in december. this year, the last of my 30s seems to be a critical fragile uncertain year for me so far. through illness and death i have realized how important it is to tell people daily how i feel about them. i know you and i have never met, yet i feel ive known you a long time. you have showered me and my daughter with gifts and kindness without ever meeting us in person. be proud of who you are now that you are "older". i see you as someone who is generous, selfless, loving, and kind. i would never say the thought of you would bring anything except a smile to my face. as im sure it did to your friends when he remembered you. be at peace with who you have become. for you are a beautiful thing :) xo
