I was very saddened when I woke up this morning and saw the news. Arlen Specter lost. =[ I voted for him yesterday and was hoping he'd get reelected, but I guess most people are in that "anti-Washington" phase. Politically, we may be on opposite ends of the spectrum. DX I'm in the lolobama LJ community.

Is this a response to the Everybody Draw Mohammad Day event?

Read in the description of that event: (Copypasted with emphases mine)

This event is not anti-Islam, but anti-violence. There is nothing wrong with Muslims, but with this small group of terrorists that are willing to kill for nothing. In the South Park episode that shows Muhammad; Jesus, Moses, Buddha and some more religious icons[ are all] ridiculed in the same manner. Yet, only the terrorists aligning themselves with Islam are willing to do anything to stop people from having sense of humor, using violence, intimidation and fear.

I think that is a peaceful event and that you may be over-reacting a tad. ^^;;;; I understand you praise Allah [pbuh] emphatically, but that's a light-hearted day.

Oh, I'm not boycotting Facebook, but it's against Islamic law to draw Allah or Muhammad (peace be upon them) and I think the creators of South Park should have respected that. I understand that all religious icons were ridiculed, but there is no law prohibiting them being depicted where there is a law against drawing the final prophet and Allah (pbuh). I'm all about respect and peace.

Oh, I see! Well, they probably disregarded any rules besides the ones that would let them stay on Comedy Central.

Yeah... that's why us Muslims are upset. It's disrespectful to us. I mean most of us don't believe in terrorism, but we want our beliefs to be respected too.
