At the risk of being naive, what is Question 1 and to what does it apply? Is this just local (to you) politics or Mass politics or something else?

Question 1 was Maine's gay marriage initiative. I may not have all the details right, but off the top of my head, gay marriage was recognized by the governor but just got voted down by the people.
