So...I'd really like to speak out against something that has become a growing annoyance for me. I don't know if it's an innate annoyance I gained from having been that girl who sat around watching all her friends make out in high school because she was the only one without a boyfriend, or if I'm just getting old and crochety...but I seem to become ( Read more... )

Dude, I am so with you there. I hate hate hate hate hate pictures of people kissing at all. My only single tolerance is an occasional wedding photo of the "you may kiss your spouse" kiss. But even then I don't want it to be a make-out session. Just a peck, and let's move on.

I never had a boyfriend through all of my four years of high school, didn't have a boyfriend for three out of four years of college, and didn't have a boyfriend for both years of MA. I'm hoping my PhD breaks the streak, but yeah, I think my singlehood flavors my distaste of making out photos. Hate them. Absolutely hate them. You're so not alone on that.

I take it even farther, I hate it when couples have overly large collections of pictures of the two of them. A few, evenly spaced throughout your house, fine. But I don't want to see a bunch of pictures of the two of you all over your house, like you need reminding that you are a couple. A couple I know have pictures of the two of them EVERYWHERE, it drives me insane. Constantly taking pictures of themselves, she is an expert in the armlength picture...it's makes me scream inside.
Scott and I have been together for seven years and there are officially TWO pictures of "us" displayed in the apartment. He is pointedly NOT in my myspce pic or facebook pic, because we are two different people.
