Christmas has been a crazy whirlwind of family, friends and fun. We made sure to fit in quiet family time between all the parties & gifts. I can't seem to find my camera now though. I'm hoping it's at my parent's house still.

Here's a photo of the boys before the celebrating...the calm before the storm if you will.
It's really hard capturing Joaquin while they're playing. He's ALWAYS moving unless he's actually posing.

I still remember that day. It was one of those memorable days for no particular reason. Everything just sort of came together so calmly and peacefully. The boys were playing with their blocks for literally hours, I had made lentil soup & bread was in the oven and we were listening to Christmas Carols.

The gift bags for the kids for our party. The adults got a cozy cashmere throw blanket, with some chocolates I purchased at Disneyland. Truth be told, I bought myself a throw blanket too....it's my fave now. :)

The party we hosted for our friends was amazing good times. We still had 2 truckloads of snow from our last 2 outings up to the mountains, so the kids were outside having snowball fights while the adults sat around inside enjoying a few really really that Steve's boss gave us. A few hours into the evening, Steve brought out some 20 year old pictures of him and his friends, and we all had a great laugh about them all. I think between the 4 of them they must've gained over 150 pounds! Seriously...they were all rail thin. Now, they LOOK middle-aged. :)

Between then & our own Christmas morning, we had 3 family affairs to go to, and the kids had a grand time with all of their (2nd) cousins. Reminded me of when I was little. :)

I enjoyed seeing family & friends over the past few days, and am looking forward to getting our home back to normal. We plan on taking a long weekend sometime in January up to the cabin with a few friends and do some more relaxing, and just making more memories.

This is what it looked like the last time we went up to the park. It felt like we were on top of the world...above the gray drearyness of the valley, over the clouds. Looking forward to going back up.

I hope everyone had a loving and peaceful week.
