Ok, I am thoroughly unimpressed with the TTC right now. Not only do they get away with less than adequate service throughout the year (a half-hour wait for an Eglinton bus at just after nine? *hugs* I know what you mean, though. I had a sort of mini-discussion a couple nights ago with my parents, and this is just ridiculous! One of my sister's friends was at a concert on Friday night, and they JUST managed to get to Finch at midnight, and the first thing they heard about the strike was the subway driver saying "get off now, we're on strike". Like, can you imagine if they HADN'T gotten to Finch at midnight? They'd be stranded in Toronto somewhere!

People have to work all the time, there's no good time to deal with a TTC strike. But couldn't they at LEAST have held off until university EXAMS were done? This, to me, is the bitchiest thing they could have done.

Although, honestly speaking, it's also really bitchy of the universities to just say "suck it up" and continue business as usual, so I think they deserve some anger, too.

I think something to remember is that, chances are one of the reasons the percent for 'no' was so high, was because most workers who would have voted 'yes' just didn't bother voting at all. Which doesn't clear them of blame, but does mean that it's a dishonest representation none the less.

I can't help thinking "Wednesday night I got home at like twelve thirty." If they had pulled that stunt then, I would have been stuck at Fairview mall with no way of getting home, it would have been an extra like two hours (probably much more) walk, I probably would have called Colin and been like "Are you in Toronto? Is your dad home? Can I sleep at your place cause I don't think I can handle the extra half hour it would take to walk home"
