The US-centric Reuters reports this piece of the story. More accurate might be "Italians add latest US presidential nominee to long list of US presidents and other world figures in their nativities." They have the French and Italian leaders, among others. They used to have George W. Bush, till people there stopped liking him and stopped buying him. They even have a El Caganer (http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/El_Caganer). The inclusion of the Obamas is nothing new.
The fact that they have any celebrities in the mix is a problem. But adding Obama to your existing wise men of Sarkozy and Bono is a non-event, to me.
