More of my Laby novel...if it gets a bit smutty I am sorry...

When Sarah was certain Tobs had left the kitchen she walked over to the huge picture window that faced a sprawling green lawn and gave a spectacular view of a distinguished, old maple tree and her lovely, albeit tiny summer flower garden, resplendent with orangey black eyed Susans, daring purple zinnias and white roses. The flowers glowed ( Read more... )

Interesting. I'm curious about the story you've set up. Funnily enough, I like that Sarah smokes. I've seen it very rarely, but I always thought she might, given her personality and when she grew up. It was still "cool" to smoke back then, and now it's so taboo. I think the lack of that in fanfic is somewhat due to the age of the writers, growing up during the time of the rabid anti-smoking campaigns. But really, I think she would have.

I also really dig that Jareth plays the cello. I have a scene in my head involving a cello, which is mostly derivative of that scene in Witches of Eastwick. Cellos are sexy. ;)

THANK YOU!

Yes, I got it from all the youtube vids of David and Jen smoking in their other movies! It fit. I am old (37) so smoking was cool.

And there are several youtube vids of David playing cello from the hunger and I was inspired.

THANK YOU. Do you want more?

Did you think ballroom scene was okay?

It gets smutty, but I can edit it.

Sure. I can read more. :) Though you might want to try that LJ Cut thing with the next since it's such a long post.

Oh, yeah - he did play the cello in The Hunger. It's been a while since I watched that one.

I'm 32. Smoking was definitely still cool when I was a teen - it was the whole grunge thing. It was shortly after that that the culture with teens and smoking began to change. I blame the rise of disney pop music. ;) Not that it's a bad thing that kids aren't smoking. Not advocating it, since it's a nasty habit and ever so hard to quit, which I know from personal experience.

Yeah, the ballroom scene was fine. Like I said, don't worry about the smut. I am most definitely not a prude. You're not going to offend me, or most Laby fangirls, with smut.

And, now I feel like I have to prove that I'm not a prude. ;) HHere's my one shot at smuttiness: http://www.fanfiction.net/s/5921522/12/100_Themes_or_Underground_Daydreams
