Oh, Halloween. You are my favorite holiday. Even though all I do is watch scary movies and eat all the candy that I buy even though I know I never get trick-or-treaters.
To get to my cottage they'd have to brave a long driveway off a dangerous road through the dark woods. Atmospheric, yes, but probably not worth it for a couple of Twix bars.
Whenever I watch Texas Chainsaw Massacre (the original anyway, I didn't see the remake) I'm always surprised by how not gory it is. And yet it does indeed freak one's shit. That, The Exorcist and the TV version of Ju-On are the movies that just scare the crap out of me and leave me paranoid and jumpy for hours more than any others.
Hi! :D I've been around, skimming the flist at least. I've been taking classes at night, so I don't have time to post as much as I'd like. Or sleep or live, for that matter.
It's too bad that the kids today don't get to watch the Creature Feature-type shows that used to be on TV. Watching old black and white horror films every Saturday afternoon is one of my fondest childhood memories. Hope the kids do enjoy "Invasion of the Body Snatchers" - and I would think anyone would find the idea of people they know being replaced by impostors scary, even if they don't read any kind of allegory into it.

No one comes to your perfect little cottage? Bah. (But then, you get all the candy yourself. I see how tricksy you are!)
I watched Texas Chainsaw Massacre earlier tonight - god, that still freaks my shit.
