Everyone on the Lost boards is raving about how this was the best episode ever, and while I did enjoy it, and it definitely posed some very exciting ideas for obsessed fans who always knew that TIME & SPACE played a key role in whatever the fuck is going on on the Freaky Island of Death, I don't think it was the best episode ever. I think the Season 2 finale still holds that honorable place in Lost history.
I actually enjoyed "Not In Portland" a bit more, but that might've been because I was so excited to see Lost again after so long, and there seemed to be a little more action, and more Sawyer-Kate-ness.
However, I will say that when Desmond woke up after turning the key on the floor of his old flat with Penny, I screamed like three times before it went to commercial break. Yes, I am a freak, and it was an exciting moment.I just felt like they rescinded the potential awesomeness that moment implied, with what the rest of the episode became.
It was revealing, but not ultra-revealing.
As far as Charlie being fated to die... as many fans have pointed out, Charlie has almost died quite a few times, even more so than all the other characters on the show... all of them have been in constant life-threatening situaions since arriving in that Deathly Crash that brought them there in the first place. Charlie isn't a character that I really love, and wait to see, but I do like him. At this point, I'd be sad to see any main character on the show die. Still, better him than any of the hottie guys (Sawyer, Sayid, Jack)... Boone was enough, thank you very much. And too many of the chicks have gotten slain, one more boy to even the score, please. Can't be Locke either, though, because his episodes are always really really good.
As for next week's preview... um, first of all the burning question... How the fuck did Jack know who Cindy was and that she was captured, if he never even saw her make it to their side of the island? She was a tailie, captured right before Shannon was killed by Ana Lucia. I read that she was also a flight attendant on the plane, but still. Jack wouldn't be all, "YOU WERE CAPTURED! OMG!" The "3 major answers" thing better pay off. I guess I wanna know what's gonna happen to Jack now that he's all alone on Others Island, but I'd rather see Kate & Sawyer sailing back to the beach, hooking up with Locke and Sayid and doing some major plotting... plus, Beach!Sex, as opposed to Cage!Sex... and later, Jungle!Sex. LOL... Sate is hottt.
That's about it for now... I can't wait to be able to download those dorky Lost Podcasts again once I get DSL. WOOHOO! I wanna here Damon & Carlton NOT GIVE ME ANY ANSWERS TO ANYTHING again!
