Ok so I was shopping at Trader Joes and a jar of pears reminded me of one of my greatest discoveries in France:

Poire Belle Hèlène

This is an ice cream dessert that consists of:
pears (canned or jarred)
chocolate syrup
vanilla ice cream
chantilly whipped cream

So simple but so decadent...the pears really do make all the difference.

It's pretty good, but Poire Belle Hèlène is still better!
