I am very grateful for stumbling rather blindly into teaching middle school at a truly wonderful school where I had really exceptional mentors/principals. Although the last several years have been not as perfect as my first 12 or so years, I still mostly love it. Even when it makes me crazy--like today when we have a power outage for 3 hours,

I love teaching middle school. I love 7th and 8th grade kids. I wish the politicians would stay out of education. They are the ones ruining it for those of us who teach for the kids.
