I never know what to say to this universe. it's hot, but at the same time ties my stomach up in knots because they are so, as you said it, fucked up toward each other.

Am getting more and more drawn into this universe - love every sensual moment of it.
And I'm beginning to think that Elijah is mostly calling the shots now - no longer the innocent victim - but was he ever?

No, he was never an innocent victim. He went into the relationship knowing the price he was going to pay, and yes... you can see very clearly in some instances in this and especially in other parts of the series where he manipulates Orlando into the violence. He does have some control... and that is a very seductive element for me in writing it.
