most laptops only come with 256.
512 if you get the expensive ones.

they don't even have 1 gig ram for desktops!

that's why you get a laptop through tech. i mean, tech has contractst with dell and cdw-G. mine was 1,861 through dell and it had all requirements, no more and no less. dude, it's not bad.

1 gig ram is reasonable because you think about the things we'r edoing. it's not a personal laptop, you use it basically only for classes. you take it to your engineering classes, and you use things like autoCAD...and it has a CD writer because you save basically everything on CD and not on disk, because files are huge.

so 1 gig isn't unreasonable. i mean, my desktop only has 64MB...but it really sucks. i mean, it REALLY sucks. and it's also old... (not the one i'm taking to VT)
