You can find stories all over the place.... I think there should be more testing on this vaccine before doctors start literally bullying their patients into getting it.
But the protection isn't a guarenteed thing. IF you get all three doses and IF you seroconvert then it MIGHT protect you against 4 strains of HPV. MAYBE. And in all likelihood the protection will wear off within 5 years and you'll have to get a booster dose. And along the way you might get a blood clot and die suddenly. There were 42 women who were vaccinated while pregnant. 18 of them developed complications, mainly miscarriages, some fetal abnormalities. That's over 40%. The company currently says they don't recommend the vaccine for pregnant women but that it Should be safe for them, they just don't know for sure.
They've gotten over 8,000 complaints in 2 years, and that's only the reported ones.
I have to agree with Pathdancer in that more testing is always better but at some point you have to release it to the general public and see what happens. Test animals and limited human test groups can only find so much. Cervical cancer is a very real threat to women's health and we spend huge amounts of money on preventative screening and treatment. Gotta give the vaccine a chance outside the lab
