I just got a preamp for my violin!!! Hooray!!!!!!! now I'm ready for effects. What do you guy's use? I'm trying to find something not too expensive. So far it's ether Zoom, or Digitech.

The Zoom multieffects units are pretty good money for what they do. I've played some through my boyfriend's 505 and I liked the results. Plus, they also work as a tuner. :)

It depends on what you want. If you want a cheap multi to fuck around with and to sort of "test the waters" with, then here is my advice:

Go for a Digitech, but not the lowest model. Specifically, go for this one.
Upsides to it:
A) knobs = more flexibility than the system used by the lower end Digitech & the Zoom ones
B) More delay time than the Zoom ones.
C) Sturdier than the Zoom

B is a big deal, IMO, but I might be somewhat biased on that. I love my 505 II, but the RP-100 is just a good deal, IMO. 2 seconds of delay, some decent verb, all kinds of misc effects to toy with... It's a good unit. It's a little more expensive than the 505 II, so... get it used :)

Awsom thanks. I was thinking about Digitech. Didn't relize how enoying it would be to have the rp50(think that's what it's called) with out knobs. Make's sense. Now I just have to find one. This is were being old enof to have a crdit card would come in handy :(

if you have a checing account, your bank can give you a check card. it works just like a credit card. i don't use credit cards for personal reasons, but i buy stuff on musicians friend whenever i'm not doing the starving artist thing.
