If ur wanting some gothic violin playing check out Ghost Orgy and Amber Asylum both r really kool. as far as good folk music I like celtic stuff like from bands such as Leah and Natalie MacMaster and so on, I use sheet music if I can find some, but I also put on a cd and just figure out the song by ear if I don't have music for it. good luck, have fun with the electric violin, It is a lot of fun when you get used to using the differant effects, have u ever used a wah peddle with it? that is 1 of my favorite sounds for an electric violin.

ever heard of jean luc ponty? he is a jazz violinist, and i'm pretty sure he has a book of music out to be used with the electric violin. also, i know that there is a dave matthew's band music book out with violin riffs.
