Quick question...

Nov 24, 2005 10:54

Can anybody advise me what kind of strings I need for an electric violin?

The a string on mine has just gone, and I don't know what to replace it with! Can I use the same ones I would normally use on my acoustic violin (dominants) or do I need ones specifically for an electric violin?

Cheers!

There's no specifically "electric" strings. You can use whatever you feel sounds best.

I think it really depends on the instrument. Dominants sound really good on my acoustic. On my electric there horrible!!!! For my electric I us Helicore. They sound better but other than Dominant I havn't tried anything elss.

Mine is a Fender. What's yours?

I replaced the broken a string with a dominant one, and it seems to sound OK. The first thing I noticed is that it's *much* easier to tune... so I'm contemplating replacing the whole set.

I know you're not talking to me, but I've got a fender too. :) I haven't played in forever though because of school.

Mine is beautiful, I love it. The acoustic violin gets jealous. :-)

The guitars grumble too, cause they're only Squiers. ;-)
