Strings for an electric?

I've recently broken a string on my violin, and I've always used Helicores, but I was wondering what other people here use for their electrics. If it helps, I play a Fender V-1 through some effects usually into a pretty crappy SS amp but sometimes into a Traynor YCV40 tube amp ( Read more... )

I use Helicore on my violin too. I've tried Dominants. The didn't sound so good amplified. Recently I got a trail set of Pirastro Flexocor. Haven't tried them yet. I'm waiting for my Helicore to wear out. They look like a generic brand of Helicore. It's worth a try since you can get them for free. Just tell them your a violinist and your address. I forget the email but you can acoustic do it from the site. I also got a free set of Evah's. They sound really good on my acoustic but I'm guessing they'd be bad on electric violin. High tension strings tend to make more bow noise. Also the Obligators look good.
