I'm... well... in Iraq. I'm staying the enlisted route, at least for now. I'm pretty happy being a sergeant. I don't imagine I'll stay in the army much longer, though. I feel it's not really condusive to my personality.
Yeah, I can honestly say that there are times I get a little jealous of the sergeant's street cred. People still do what I say because I'm in charge, but I don't quite have the same type of respect/rapport with the people that you as a sergeant do.
I really wouldn't have pegged you as going the military route....at all. I would imagine that you're one of the few Army enlisted men who have the RENT soundtrack, haha. But just so you know, I fully sympathize. I too look at my peers and job and reflect on how inappropriate both are for me. I'm looking at getting out as soon as I can, which as of last week, is still 3 years. = \ In the meantime though, I'll just keep plugging away at my job, working on my MBA and putting money aside for when I do regain my freedom. I did it for the college money. Why did you sign up?
