jonghyun/minho
pg
for the one that helps give my muse a jump start when i least expect it, my (impatient) prince charming. ♥
there was something intimate about standing so close to minho in his shoddy apartment on the third level of a decrepit building, with the taller boy so close to him and lifting an unlit cigarette to jonghyun's lips. there was something intimate about this tiny, one-bedroom apartment with a broken dishwasher and no air conditioning, something intimate about this rich kid that had never even stepped foot inside the slums until he met jonghyun just the other day.
minho didn't like cigarettes.
jonghyun was addicted.
and jonghyun had been fidgeting, he had been jonesing for a tobacco fix but he refrained because of minho, he didn't want to offend the younger boy, he didn't want to scare him off with cigarette-breath.
but minho had noticed jonghyun's fidgeting, how jonghyun was sliding his thumb along the back of his index finger, itching to have a cigarette between his fingers; minho picked up the crumpled carton of cigarettes from the counter and pulled a fag out, standing so close to jonghyun the blond could smell his aftershave as minho put the filter between jonghyun's slightly parted lips. jonghyun's stomach churned with something other than a tobacco craving as minho picked up his lighter off of his dresser and flicked it a few times before a steady flame erupted, the brunet holding it up to the cigarette; the cherry lit as jonghyun inhaled and the smoke swirled in jonghyun's mouth before it filled his lungs and he felt all of the tension release his body, he felt the pleasant buzz of the tobacco filling his brain.
minho set the lighter back down and put his hands on either side of jonghyun's body, pinning him to the dresser. the cigarette hung between jonghyun's lips and minho's dark eyes gazed into jonghyun's, before the taller boy's fingers reached up and pulled the cig from jonghyun's lips, replacing it with his mouth. their kiss was deep and jonghyun couldn't help but breathe the smoke into minho's mouth as his eyes closed, listening to minho inhale and suck the poison into his lungs.
the younger boy pulled away and put the cigarette back between jonghyun's lips. the sun shone dimly through the grimy window, years of dust caked onto the glass giving the room a soft green tint. minho lay down in a patch of that green light on the small twin-sized bed, the only furniture that jonghyun could fit into his apartment, and jonghyun didn't think he'd ever seen someone fall asleep so fast.
cologne and cigarette smoke clung to every fabric in jonghyun's tiny little apartment, and he only finished half of his cigarette before he stubbed it out in his ash tray and slid into bed behind minho, draping an arm over the taller boy's waist as his nose nuzzled into the back of minho's neck.
gun shots rang out in the alley behind jonghyun's apartment complex, sirens sounded almost every hour throughout the approaching evening but as minho and jonghyun cocooned together on the tiny bed nothing else really mattered.
the electricity went out five minutes later, one of jonghyun's cupboard doors fell off a hinge and minho didn't even stir.
smooth lips tasted like toothpaste even in slumber and jonghyun burrowed down into the uncomfortable mattress, ignoring the springs digging into his hips and ribs, inhaling the fabric softener of his ratty pillow.
there was something intimate about minho being in his apartment, stepping down off of his multi-million dollar pedestal and into the slums. there was something intimate about minho not questioning his bathroom absent of a shower or bath tub, something intimate about minho not paying any mind to the peeling wallpaper.
just... something intimate, jonghyun knew it, as he drifted asleep too.
