The first semester of CEGEP came and went with a flurry that both confused my perception of time and space and left me with a fountain of information that I didn't previously think I'd be able to tap into. I learned more than I thought I could in such a short time. Going to CEGEP kind of forced me into a state of maturity that I had once thought I ( Read more... )

I'm sorry to hear about your classmate :(
It's always hard and strange and uncomfortable when someone you know dies, and when they're around your own age, I think it just makes it all that more surrealistic and uncomfortable.

Just to let you know, I'm back on my own computer (we've finally got our own place), so if you ever need/want to chat, hit me up. (flickerflame1)

Thanks dearie. I'm glad to hear that you're up and running again, I'll definitely take you up on your offer. I talked to Dev at one point and it's a minor travesty that we don't talk more often.

Her age was what got me. My grandfather died two years ago and it didn't hit me as much as this did. Not because I didn't love him, but because it was his time to die. Her... It's hard to think of destiny playing a hand in the death of someone so young....

No, believe me, I understand about the age thing. I had a close friend die when I wasn't even in middle school - and it's always a hard thing to grasp. There's just something about it - it's like a realisation that it can happen to people your own age...even if you logically realise it already. :-/

I haven't really seen you on - you should hit me up sometime. Really. We miss our Canadian :)

Yeah, you really grapple with mortality when it happens. The world seems a lot scarier and you kind of feel like it just might swallow you up at any time.

I've been on sporatically. I will, definitely. It's a crime against humanity how long we can let interaction become stagnant for.

Hey

Wow, it's been such a long time since we've seen each other. I'm sorry to hear about what happened, but it's true, it does stike you more when the person who dies is so very young and you realize all that lost potential. So, hope you're having enjoying your time at Vanier. And, as cheesy as this may sound, I really miss your honesty. And, I totally found your journal by accident, and it made me incredibly happy to see you're doing well!

Hey!

Wow, it really has been a long time. Vanier is treating me well, and it's been awhile since Alexandra died, so I've been getting better at dealing with it every day. You realize after awhile that people aren't the measure of their death but everything they did in their life. All that's important is that they had a chance to do anything at all.

We should get together soon, we're both on break right now.... March break! I hope I still have your number...

Ooh, March break was too short! Hope you had a wonderfully enjoyable break, free from school work, because no matter how much someone enjoys school (and I'm glad to hear Vanier is treating you well) they always deserves a break :). I went to florida(which had crappy weather) and just got back yesterday.

And thanks for replying on my journal, but I don't think I'm going to keep it up. It's too tempting for me to write down everything that's in my head, including all the bad, and for me, writing it down would make it seem more real when I'd rather not think about it.

And I'm glad this is getting better for you. But you're right, all you can do is embrace the sum of their life, rather than focusing on the fact that they died.

And, I just totally rambled on and on, hope you don't mind.

And, like, email me at gabyg12@yahoo.com and I'll send you my number so we can like, catch up or something.
