My psych analysis for today

A friend of mine posted in her journal asking about why young kids these days seem to get drunk more, do and sell drugs more, and in general don't show respect to their elders. This was my response, in which I actually sound kinda smart, so I'm sharing it here to get your collective takes on it as well. Digest

I agree with you 100%. I sit back and look at myself, and I see at normal person. I dont drink, or can I. I have never done any illegal substances. I have never even shoplifted!

And then I look at my brother, whos telling stories of running away from the cops after they raided a party in which there was underaged drinking. My mmother, whos right there listening, does nothing about it. If that had been me, she would have kicked my ass.

The reason for this is because around the time my brother was in junior high, my mother was dating a lot of asshole guys, and doing nothing but going around drinking and partying with them and their friends. So ofcourse, my Brother turned out like an Idiot.

Yea I agree with you 100% on your reply to my entry. I think a lot of times they take life for granted and just do stupid shit in return. I think it also has a lot to do with pure pressure and with the people they hangout with. My friend for example mved out of his house because he didnt like the rules his mom set for him and also because he saw how his friends are so he followed them. He dropped out of school and is now buncing from house to house to stay at. I get pissed off when kinds my sisters age or younger just through there life away like nothing. They need a reality check
