Speculation on Grimm 1.21

So, I noticed at some point along the season that Juliette is put in red a lot. I think she may actually wear red at least once in every episode. Add to that the fact that the showrunners had BT color her dark hair red for the role, and I'm thinking there could be something significant to this. Red Riding Hood's been done already (not that it couldn't be revisited), and I'm wondering if Juliette might not fill the role of Rose Red.

So, Snow White and Rose Red are living happily together with their mother, when a bear comes calling. They all make friends, the bear goes on his way, and the sisters meet a little prick of a dwarf who can't keep his ass out of trouble, has major issues expressing gratitude, and is systematically shaved against his will. The bear comes back, and reveals that he's really a prince who's been enchanted into a bear-shaped package by the dwarf, who stole the prince's jewels (haha -- oh, fairy tales, with your innuendo). He smacks the dwarf on the head, kills him, and the spell is broken.

I know, I know, where the eff am I going with this?

Ep 21 will apparently introduce us to a Sasquatch-like creature who is trapped in transition between his human and Wesen forms, a condition which is the result of some sort of drug treatment he's getting from a doctor. Somewhere in all of this there's a murder (naturally), and it sounds as if Juliette either witnesses it or finds the body (I'm guessing the latter, but the description says she "stumbles upon a murder," which is a little vague).

I'm thinking this ep might be Snow White and Rose Red. I don't know if I dare hope that there will be any revelations for Juliette in it, though I'd like to. Nick *does* look like a Snow White-type, after all. :) I'd love to think that his "Rose Red" witnesses a transformation and comes away enlightened, too. Of course, not all the eps follow their tales very closely, so even if this *is* the right source material, who knows how strong the parallels will be.

So, there's what I spent a slow night at work thinking about.
