People in favor of congestion pricing on the news swear that the MTA will use the congestion pricing money they'll gain wisely for things that will help riders and the city. I've been a New Yorker too long to believe that. I'm still salty that they dare to call it "congestion" pricing when it also runs at night, when there's barely any congestion.
