I'm making a new MP3 CD for my car. This requires careful planning, as I've discovered. When you can fit that many songs on a CD, you add stuff on impulse, and always end up skipping it. A good playlist helps avoid this. Anyways, here is the CD so far. The kind of music I'm going for should be apparent, just stuff for cruising to and from Atlanta. ( Read more... )

If you're talking about driving songs here, I would think the obvious Hendrix choice would be Crosstown Traffic. Other songs I like for driving:

Unrest - "Suki"
Raveonettes - "Cops On Our Tail" or "Beat City"
The Modern Lovers - "Roadrunner"
Van Morrison - "Caravan"
Queens of the Stone Age - "You Think I Ain't Worth a Dollar..."
probably most Mastodon songs
Ulrich Schnauss - "On My Own"
Slint - "Good Morning, Captain"
The Specials - "Little Bitch"
Madness - "One Step Beyond" (okay so this is just because I'm on a ska kick)
Nas - "Halftime"
Wu-Tang Clan - "Shame on a Nigga"
Ghostface Killah - "One"

If you are spending time on the road with it, you're gonna need a lot more Guitar Wolf.
