Oh f**k! What a first chapter! Brilliant! Abso-f'ing-lutely stunning! And the absence of dialoge is apropos. At at time like this, there is no talking and no real thought... there is only feeling. How do I know this? You practically described the final minutes of my husband's life, with the exception of the blood. Yes, there was tissue degeneration and yes, the tubes, the wires, and the helplessness/void of hope frame of mind. You captured the intense yearning the survivor feels and the horrific feeling of watching someone you love beyond measure suffer. So if anyone has a right to gauge the "rightness" of your writing here, it's me ( ... )

Yes you can call me Chris :P Afterall the last i checked it was my name haha.

Since you brought it up, i do apologise if the snippet was rather personal for you. I had no idea that you had to go through a stage in your life that was that close to the snippet.

That aside, im glad that given your own personal experience, and the way ive written the segment seem more or less to "right". I was tempted to actually add some very minor dialogue from the unknown woman, mainly along the lines of help me, but i thought, ehhh, ill stick with gushing fluids instead. I am quite glad that the passage is at the level where its "real" and the feelings for Samuel really come through. It will probably be a running theme that Samuel will always be surrounded by helplessness and failure (esp since the Prologue) although he will get a moments gratification later on.

So yes, do feel for Samuel :P

Next section will DEFIITELY be more upbeat, since i dont want to go for the whole low, sad feeling chapter after chapter.

Will you get mad at me for not reading it yet because i'm busy laying down floorboards, pulling up lino, painting, building furniture and attempting to install a celing fan and a new powerpoint? Oh, and then some landscaping and moving two established aquariums, then building a new koi pond and making Nicola dinner.
Cause I swear once i'm done with all that i'll read it and shower you with compliments.

We'll be online more when everything is done. Which will hopefuly be soon because the whole moving and cleaning thing is getting tedious. Nicola is also stressing heaps about her school. Her teachers are bitches, so she generaly comes home, eats, collapses, does work and goes to bed.Things will settle down soon though.

hey I have been reading your updates on the body mod lj community and I was wondering if you knew anything about gauging from a 14g to a 10g on a PA. mainly the length of time after you just get the piercing before you start to change the ring and gauge, and how long between each step before you move to a larger gauge. my boyfriend just got his PA done on sat and he knows that it will be months beofre he even starts messing with it but after that how long would it take and what would the restrictions be. also is it more likely to rip a piercing the smaller the gauge, I didn't think it was but he was reading around and this is how it started....

sorry its so spread out I got out of surgery yesterday and I'm rather druged up. but thank you for any feed back.
Kelly
