Firemen are one of the new things I added to the game recently. Similar looking to the construction workers, these are simply guys that run around and put out fires. This is especially helpful in the "base building" type missions because extinguishing fires helps the buildings to survive longer ( Read more... )

Is this still the RESISTANCE game we are talking about? You have been working on that game for a very long time now.

Yep, it's the same game. I still like working on it, but I don't work on it that often.

I have picked up game building too. I recently finished a platform game in Flash: Ninie in Zombiestan. It's a lot simpler than resistance, but still it took me over six months to finish it.
The instructions are in dutch, but it can be played without reading the instrcutions. Left and Right arrows to walk, up arrow to jump or vclimb stairs, Down arrow to duck. Space to attack, Enter to open doors.
The goal is to find the seven secret diaries of George Romero and to turn off the twelve TV sets. Find keys to open doors, attack zombies useing the Space key. Turning off TV sets will disable zombies.

The game was not very hard to program, but it required a lot of drawings and animations, which was very time consuming.

I am now working on a new game, which is not online yet. It's a puzzle game where you have to line up coloured marbles. This game uses less graphics and animations, but the programming is way more complicated. I like that. After all the animations I made for Ninie in Zombiestan, I really love this programming-intensive job.

Oh I'm glad you're making some games of your own. I didn't try it yet; Flash games usually don't work on my computer but I'll try to play it eventually. You're right that making the graphics always seems to take more time than anything else. I like programming AI for the opponents in the games; that always seems to be interesting.
