A tutorial was requested for this icon. It's pretty simple, using only color layers and done in Photoshop CS.

Original cropped image from Supernatural Central.

Go to Image >> Adjustments >> Variations and click the "lighter" option once or twice (use your judgement).

Duplicate your base and set it to screen, 100% opacity.

Duplicate your base and set it to Soft Light, 100% opacity.

Create a new layer, fill it with #FEDCF3 set at Color Burn, 100% opacity.

Create a new layer, fill it with #FEF3DC set at Color Burn, 100% opacity.

Create a new layer, fill it with #002734 set at Exclusion, 100% opacity.

Create a new layer, fill it with #CEF1FD set at Color Burn, 100% opacity.

Create a new layer and copy merge all the layers onto a new layer by pressing CTRL+ALT+SHIFT+E.

Duplicate your copy merged layer (the layer you created in step 9) and set it to Soft Light, 100% opacity.
