Yeah, I still have a hard time believing he said all that, given how sensitive and compassionate all his books are. Not only Ender's series but also the Alvin series, Treason (which deals with a transsexual), Songmaster, Wyrms... I guess I'll choose to believe in the man who wrote the books, not the man who wrote that essay. Or maybe he's just too brainwashed nowadays. *shrug*

It's depressing, but I'll follow his books' examples and believe in the power of redemption.

it's hard to believe in those books. the 'spirit' of them... when we know the man who wrote those ideas is a hypocrite.

i almost wish i never found out.

Yeah, I know what you mean. Yet... the books make _sense_, and feel right. I'm not going to ignore something that played such a huge role in defining me, as an adult, because the person who wrote them is a bigot.

I dunno. I'll try to stay positive. No point not to, I guess.

Oh, for those who haven't read QoW, I should mention this. The comic is now over and the author is going through a day-by-day play of all the past comic strips in order, with comments. Pretty interesting read and the spoilers aren't terrible so far...

The comic is _really_ well-written and by far one of the most sensitive stories I've seen. And the characters are well developed. Great comic to read.
