I have squirrels that hid nuts in my planters. The oregano is fine, and so are the chives, but I can't get dill to grow, because the squirrels keep digging where the seedlings are. Next year I will start with fresh potting soil, because the acorns are unhealthy for some of my plants. Mostly we have shagbark hickory trees, and a few oak.
