By now many of you have no doubt heard about the Marine manning the Toys for Tots collection point who helped stop a shoplifter and was stabbed by that shoplifter in the process. He did what a Marine should do. He put himself at risk to do the right thing ( Read more... )

The incident occurred on Black Friday, and the four Marines involved didn't impose any vigilante justice. They just secured the suspect and turned him over to local law enforcement. Corporal Phillip Duggan sustained a slight stab wound in the back while arresting the suspect. Duggan was treated and released.

Exactly my point. The Marines did as they should, and the email with the "additional" paragraph is, in my opinion, reprehensible, as it smears the names of these good men.
