Childhoods' End?

Childhoods' End -- Arthur C. ClarkeThe master writer talks about how the human race re-integrates with the parent race and childhood as we know it has come to and end. I read this book a long time ago maybe sometime in 1996-97. I was too young to fully appreciate it but it has left a lasting impact on my mind ( Read more... )

arwind has mentioned often marriage in his posts of late
I plead to being a victim of circumstances beyond my control

However the notion of marriage is an idiom for a number of other changes that come along with it
The last time I checked, words represents a rather elaborate concepts ;-). Words that summarize a goal represents a lot of things, what are commonly known as assumptions. Looks like you are suffering from excessive PHB assaults that you want to look at a detailed spec of any concept :-P

now those exams are no longer forced down our throats and we tend not to take them seriously
I still hold my opinion that it is not so much of not having an iron fist as opposed to not having hard deadlines, not meeting which makes society believe that you are a "miserable failure" (no, not GWB) and more importantly something that you also believe in. You did not really need someone perpetually threatening to expel from from your home that made you study.

I can't but agree to that. Also, I am using PHB concepts in my day to day life which is causing me to turn into something I find a hard time going to bed with.

Both of us know this certain person who's been very traumatically trying to get hooked for a while now and has provided us with much entertainment in the process. For the sake of discussion lets call him BQ.

Now BQ has been complaining of a lack of a partner for too long now. Deep down he (probably) wants a partner. However apart from complain about it he has done very little real stuff. From his Point of View, it appears that his life is drifting, he is becoming older and getting no closer to his goals.

However, if he decided to do a personal makeover and spend some time and energy in achieving his task, it is almost trivial to achieve what he wants.

Suddenly his life has meaning and he is moving in the direction he wants to, no more semi-spiritual mystic thoughts in your head.
