Whatever Dorian thinks he is doing, I don't like it.

What happened?

It would be difficult to explain. I suggest you check Miss Vane's journal, if you really must know. That doesn't cover all of it, but perhaps enough.

She says I can't read it.

So I'll just have to assume it was Dorian being his usual annoying self.

*considers this*

. . . Oh. Oh, never mind. She's right, of course, you shouldn't read it.

*sigh* You needn't be insulting about him, you know.

He's being Dorian, which, in many views, requires his acting like an utter bastard.

Yes, well, even in that view, he usually doesn't do it to me.

Maybe he's looking for a change of pace. I think he is jealous that you were worried for Lady Wotton.

That's absurd. Of course I was worried. She was kidnapped. She can hardly stand, now. It's sense, not any matter for jealousy.

*shuffles in nervously*

Er. Harry. I talked to Dorian today and he asked me to speak to you. Um.

*totally uncomfortable*

. . . He did?

Well, what did he say, Basil?

Well, um. He said you'd been avoiding him. Actually, he said you hadn't spoken to him at all. Because you were so worried about your wife. Um. I think he's, er, jealous. And he gave me some garbled account which I didn't particularly listen too closely to, as I know how he tends to... stretch the truth until it rips.

I think you should speak with him, Harry. He's very unhappy.

But I haven't-- I've been wanting to speak with him, but he doesn't even acknowledge that I'm in the room, let alone behave as if he wanted to talk to me.

I tried to talk to him. Not last night, but before. He only got angry. I don't know what he wants me to do.

[. . . that's two points from completely, at least. If I don't somehow manage to make it worse. *bites lip*]
