My one thought throughout Obama's press conference:

Thank God McCain's not president.

This is the first press conference I've watched in, oh, about 8 years. Thought he handled himself and the questions very well.

I was having the strangest feeling and it took me awhile to figure out what it was. Then I realized I believed what my president was saying. This is so novel I didn't recognize it!

Thank God McCain didn't become president, drop dead and leave us with Sarah Palin. Also.

I think it's delightful to see someone who is bright and willing to give complete answers.

I truly hate republicans. Also.

The repugs make me sick. They are openly hoping Obama will "fail" so they can get back in office. Never mind that his failure is a disaster for the country. Who cares about the country? Not these clowns.

They are not just "hoping" he fails, though, they are working towards that end despite the enormity of the problems...

Hi JV *hugs warmly*!!!!

My disappointment with the media continues. With Reagan getting rid of the "fairness doctrine" (GOP didn't want the media to have to present both sides of a story....fancy that), and the subsequent rise of Fox News (faux news) and other corporate media, the whole fabric of the media has torn. No one asks a good question much less a follow-up one.

The President did a good job. Let's hope he learned a lot in these past three weeks. (3 weeks!)

I know some people think it's a big deal, but asking about A-Rod's drug problems while the economy is in meltdown and Iran is arming itself seems wasting an important moment on a trivial thing - and one that's outside of the president's job anyway.

the whole fabric of the media has torn.

I agree. I amuse myself sometimes by watching the actual event, and then watching all the talking heads tell me what really happened. Their versions usually bear no relation to what I just witnessed.
