EDIT:  Strattera is horrible and I've gotten all of the worst side effects. I do not like being the living zombie that can't think anything and sleeps all day without ever feeling rested, beyond that it was giving me heart palpitations when i first took it which scares me. I've discontinued use and will have to talk to the man about alternative ( Read more... )

See the funny thing is that my mom is a doctor so pretty much the only medical professionals I see are ones that have really good reputations. Maybe half a year ago I broached the concept of moving away from adderall to a non-amphetamine based drug. He pretty much said flat out that they're bullshit and they don't work, if you want something to improve your focus it's either amphetamines or methylphenidate. They work, and they work damn well. They also have a lot of nasty side effects and they're hideously addictive. My script has since expired via my own volition but I still have a good number of Adderal 20mg XR pills left over. If you absolutely, positively need to get shit done, you'd better believe they do the trick. I curious as to how your shrink adventures turned out. Did you just give up or did they play guinea pig?

After Strattera I talked to my doctor a little and he recommended Concerta (a form of Ritalin) . But I told him I'd rather just take adderal, and he was friendly enough to perscribe me that. I agree that they definitely do the trick. I've always been hesitant about addictive drugs so I don't actually take it regularly, but when I do take it... oh boy!

I have an appointment to get more soon because I'm low =(.
