ICON Qs + HIATUS
Okay, I have one two big announcements here:
As of August 31, I'm going on an icon-making hiatus. My goal is to cut back on my internet time for the next four months, at least, and see a bit more of the real world. BUT TO DISTRACT MYSELF FROM MY IMMINENT SORROW
Omigod I have so many questions! Because I seriously know shit nothing about making icons, and I just downloaded GIMP (too cheap for Photoshop) so I am quite curious.
How do you get images to exactly 100x100 for an icon? Maybe I'm stupid/this is easier with other programs, but whenever I try (especially if the image I'm working from isn't a square) it won't let me.
What are the effects you use most often?
And maybe you've done this before but fave icons by you and others? Top 5 or 10.
