[Lt. Blake watched the gentleman from a discrete distance, silently approving of his methods. When she saw the container that he'd been dipping into to polish his weaponry, she cocked a single brow, walked over, and deposited a much smaller jar on the edge of the table.]

"Try that. It'll keep the sand out of the barrel a hell of a lot better than issued."

[Winchester cocked an eyebrow at her wondering how he'd failed to notice such an outstanding female specimen among the ranks. He then let his eyes wander to the jar she'd placed on the table. Either this was her way of opening conversation or she was showing him exactly where he stood, which was below her as some kind of primitive American idiot.

Too much pause and he'd show he was thinking to much about it. Reaching out he dipped his rag into the jar and began applying the new polish to the riffle he was working on. Not looking up at her, he decided to be civil.]

[Blake saw the measured look the man gave her, and bore it with tremendous aplomb. When he began to use her proffered oil, she gave a satisfied nod. If he'd asked, she would have told him in no uncertain terms that she wasn't about to have anybody running around with a gun who was using a gun oil unsuited to the harsher sands of this place.]

Yes, I do. A fifty-fifty mix of grease and silicone oil keeps the sand from sticking so much.

[With that, she turned away, content to know that his guns would benefit from better lubricant.]
