156 - Being an adult and other things

Today, on my lovely day off, I had to be an adult. I hate days when I have to pretend I'm adult, they generally suck and involve stress. But it wasn't all bad. I called all my student loan lenders and started preparing for my income-based repayment plans. I found out I'll most likely be accepted so yay, low payments! I also made an eye-doctor ( Read more... )

I need to get new glasses, too. Mine are so old! But my insurance doesn't cover "hardware". :p

When I worked in the pharmacy, people's copays would go up and we had no control over it, honestly. And the best explanation we had was that the actual price of the drug went up. So like if the drug is $100, and your insurance covers 60%, then you pay $40. But if they price goes up to $200, your insurance still only covers 60%, so you end up paying $80. Sometimes there were other explanations, though, like people's plans changed and they just didn't realize it. But either way, it just sucks. I absolutely hate this system, the entire thing between doctors and patients and pharmacies and drug companies. It's terrible, and if I start talking about, I get really angry.

Unfortunately for me, I don't' have insurance at all. So everything was out of pocket anyway. I doubt that having insurance would have stopped the prescription price from going up, too.

Yeah, the system is seriously screwed up. It seems to be more about making money than helping people.

I always thought, when I was a kid, that by the time I was "grown-up" (aka in my teens, lol), I'd have everything together...welp. So I feel your pain re: adulthood.

I got my driver's license last October and I haven't driven since, though I think I want to soon. I need to keep practicing!

I'm not sure I'll ever have everything together. I'm so adverse to growing up all the way. :P

Ahh, I love your icon! ♥

Yeah, I'm concerned if I do end up getting it, I'll never use it! Driving makes me so nervous.

I'm proud of you for being an adult but I'm so upset that you have to pay money for medical needs. That is so unfair.

I agree. It makes me so angry that I, as a citizen of my country, cannot get my basic medical needs tended to. It's not right.
