Shannon, sometimes I think we share a cosmic brain. I constantly have nightmares, or in the very least, disturbing dreams. I usully wake up not wanting to remember what I dreamt, and this has how it's always been for me with dreams.
If you body will sleep for 12 hrs straight without a problem, then you really should do just that until your body re-regulates itself. You're seriously sleep deprived and you'll feel groggy for a while until your body has recooped.
Sounds like seretonin inbalance. Nerves aren't firing right and it lowers sleep quality while affecting the brain chemicals that cause dreams. Try taking Chamomille (teas are good) and B Complex supplements. Should see results in 48-72 hours.
